Terms of Service
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Draft for review. These terms are a starting point that reflects how the product works today. Have a qualified attorney review and adapt them (operating entity, governing law, arbitration/venue, consumer-law disclosures) before public launch.
These Terms govern your use of HLID.io and your Human Number (“HLID”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What HLID is — and is not
An HLID is a free, public contact number that lets people attempt to reach you without exposing your private email, phone, or address. It is deliberately scoped. An HLID is not:
- • a telephone number — there is no calling, texting, or telecom service through it;
- • a password or proof of identity — knowing it grants only an attempt to contact you;
- • a Social Security number, government ID, or legal identity document;
- • a privacy “eraser” — it protects future access; it cannot remove information already exposed elsewhere;
- • a tool to evade accountability — it protects you from exposure, not from the law.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) and able to form a binding contract. Don’t use the service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
3. Your account
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. In this release, each account is associated with a single HLID. We verify your email and use a secure, revocable session for login.
4. Your HLID
Your HLID is licensed to you for use while your account is active and in good standing; it is not property you own, and it is not a security, investment, or financial instrument. We may suspend, reclaim, or reassign an identifier to address impersonation, abuse, legal requirements, or reserved/brand categories. If your account is deleted, the number is retired and is not recycled to another person.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use HLID, or the contact relay, to:
- • impersonate any person, brand, or organization, or misrepresent affiliation;
- • harass, threaten, defraud, or send spam or unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
- • collect, scrape, or enumerate HLIDs or user data, or send automated/bulk traffic;
- • probe, bypass, or interfere with security, rate limits, abuse controls, or availability;
- • violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
We may remove content, throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Reporting abuse
If you receive abusive contact through an HLID, or believe a number is being misused, report it to abuse@hlid.io. We review reports and may take action including suspension or reclamation of an identifier.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we encrypt and retain it, and how to delete your account and data.
8. Termination & deletion
You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard; deletion is permanent and irreversible. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or to comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., disclaimers and liability limits) survive.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that message delivery is guaranteed, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that the service will meet your requirements.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HLID.io and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. [Operator to set an aggregate liability cap and any consumer-law carve-outs with counsel.]
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date above and, where appropriate, additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law & contact
[Operator to specify governing law and venue.] Questions about these terms: legal@hlid.io.
